The only thing I do is maintain my site to keep it alive. This sites gave me a passive income but still it needs attention and maintenance to keep it up and running. It needs fresh contents/ software updates/ plugins update etc.

Things to do this 3rd quarter 2010
1. Update all wordpress sites (software, plugins updates etc)
2. Find a graphic artist that will create Gimikero.com logo and redesign OnlineMenu.ph site.
3. Create decent calling card, I prefer to make 1 for Gimikero.com and Batangas-Resort.com
4. Buy a VPS server and transfer 3-5 sites in this machine.
I also plan to sell some of my space to my colleague
5. Try to create more articles / blog post to my new sites

Gimikero.com – Mainly focus on Gimik places, travel and food blogs, this will also be my travel blog. I’ll try to post Hotel reviews, tourist destination and some of my PhotoShoot on where I go

OnlineMenu.ph – will focus on restaurant menus and promos

Hongkong-Tour.info – Mainly focus in Travelling to Hong kong, Hong Kong Itenerary, cheap hongkong hotel reviews, Hongkong hotel promos and many more.
6. Link build this new sites
Either i’ll do it or find someone in DigitalPoint to do it for me(this will cost me few $$)
7. Have a break :)

I received an email from my host that they will disable web access to 1 of my site. Because their server is encountering problems, they said that my site is consuming 60% CPU and causing load on the server and crashed the webserver .

Email received from my host.
“…We had no choice but to disable the web access for directory “to 1 of mysite” from your account to stabilize the server. Please try to optimize your code/script to avoid the heavy resource usage. If this is normal usage for your scripts, I suggest you check our semi-dedicated plans at … ”

Its already 6 hours have passed, my site is still down and im losing some money in every hour its down. Semi-Dedicated plan is 3 times the amount of my current Shared Hosting plan and its a lot. Before Im thinking of moving my site to VPS Plan, but because of this they might not allow me to move to a vps because my site is consuming half loads of their server.

My current action Plan.
1. Upgraded Wordpress software to latest version - done
    I already requested my host to enable my site so that we can try if its still taking too much load.
    Awaiting feedback from my host
2. Install WP-Cache plugins
    This will only be done once my site is up and running.
3. If everything fails. My sites will now be hosted on a Semi-Dedicated server.
   

What happens to my site is new to me, my site is now receiving loads of traffic, I didnt anticipate that I might encounter server issues in the future, because I am only concerned on the bandwidth limit of my current hosting plan, if it hits the bandwidth limit then I will move to a higher plan. But now its a server load issues that stop my site for being online.

Well lessons learned. :)
